The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) forecasted a 2.2% decline in home prices in Ontario this year.

It's likely the new stress test regulations, which require buyers to qualify for their mortgages even if there's a rate hike of up to 2%, may well be having an effect.

The Bank of Canada estimates about 10% of buyers will be disqualified.
