11/12/2016 2016 Open Rhodes Art Show & Sale Central East Free

8th Annual Open Rhodes Art Show & Sale featuring artists on Rhodes Avenue - 1 city block. Types of art: jewelry, pottery, lampwork glass, acrylics & oil painting, fabric art, mixed media, photography, sculpture & more. There will be an Artist Raffle benefiting East End Childrens Centre. Raffle tickets and prizes will be at 695 Rhodes Avenue during the show. Draw will take place at 695 Rhodes Avenue at 6:00 pm on Sunday Nov. 13th by local politicians. An easy walk from Coxwell or Greenwood Subway. Street parking or Green "P" parking lot at the top of Rhodes. Rhodes is 1 block west of Coxwell & south of Danforth. All art is within a 5 minute walk. Follow the "Purple Open Rhodes" signs to participating houses.

When I moved to Jimei 9 months ago, I was not familiar with the place. I got used to it after half a year. According to one of my neighbors, “Some part of Jimei is nice, some part of Jimei is disgusting”. Not for only once, when I walk along some beautiful quiet streets of Jimei, I feel the beauty of it and feel like in the heaven. Even till now  I am still not familiar with it, but when the bus drives along the bridge and I look at that place, I know I do know something about this place and it is part of my memory for ever. And just before the Chinese new year, I hear the song composed by one of the Jimei people. “最美是集美,集天下之美”.
