10/21/2016 5x JUNO nom/6x CFMA winning mando-maestro Andrew Collins Trio CD Release Central West $20 - $29

The mercurial, 5x JUNO-nominated/6x CFMA winning mando-maestro Andrew Collins, together with fellow members of his trio - string guru Mike Mezzatesta and in-the-pocket bassist James McEleney – are servin' up some groovin' good times at their "And It Was Good" CD release at music hotspot Hugh's Room. "And It Was Good" boldly showcases the trio's popular collision of genres – merging folk with jazz, classical with bluegrass, swing with Celtic, and landing somewhere between the re-imagined worlds of Béla Fleck and Newgrass invader, David Grisman. “Light of touch, fast of wit, copiously imaginative...Toronto mandolin virtuoso pulls out all the stops” --Toronto Star $22.50 advance/$25 door

When I moved to Jimei 9 months ago, I was not familiar with the place. I got used to it after half a year. According to one of my neighbors, “Some part of Jimei is nice, some part of Jimei is disgusting”. Not for only once, when I walk along some beautiful quiet streets of Jimei, I feel the beauty of it and feel like in the heaven. Even till now  I am still not familiar with it, but when the bus drives along the bridge and I look at that place, I know I do know something about this place and it is part of my memory for ever. And just before the Chinese new year, I hear the song composed by one of the Jimei people. “最美是集美,集天下之美”.
