09/25/2016 Tree Planting at Downsview Park - Highway of Heroes Living Tribute Northwest Free

Our goal is to plant 1,000 trees in support of the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute. Their mandate is to plant 117,000 trees in total, one for each of Canada's fallen soldiers since Confederation, in order to turn highway 401 and areas within its proximity into a living memorial. No experience or tools are necessary. We'll provide everything you need, and our experienced Park staff will be on hand to guide you through the tree planting. Drop-in at any time between 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Also, join us at 9:30 a.m. as dignitaries and guests will be on hand for a ceremonial tree planting to kick off the occasion.

When I moved to Jimei 9 months ago, I was not familiar with the place. I got used to it after half a year. According to one of my neighbors, “Some part of Jimei is nice, some part of Jimei is disgusting”. Not for only once, when I walk along some beautiful quiet streets of Jimei, I feel the beauty of it and feel like in the heaven. Even till now  I am still not familiar with it, but when the bus drives along the bridge and I look at that place, I know I do know something about this place and it is part of my memory for ever. And just before the Chinese new year, I hear the song composed by one of the Jimei people. “最美是集美,集天下之美”.
