09/21/2016 The Purple Couch Campaign Downtown Free

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in recognition of World Alzheimer's Day, the Purple Elephant invites the public and media to its Purple Couch Campaign. The non-profit, which raises awareness about the disease amongst young people worldwide, is setting up a purple couch in the middle of Union Station from 7 to 11 am. The purple couch, provided by La-Z-Boy, takes its distinctive colour from the official colour of the Alzheimer's movement. Passers-by are encouraged to have a seat and share their memories about a friend, family, or colleague that has been affected by the disease. Photos and videos of the moments will be shared with them and the public to capture the memories.
