09/11/2016 Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope Southeast $20 - $29

The Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope was founded by Peggy Truscott in 2002. Peggy wanted to create a place where women living with ovarian cancer and survivors could connect with one another, surrounded by a community of support. With truckloads of sunflowers and her friends and family in tow, Peggy started a movement. To date, the Walk has raised over $21 million for Ovarian Cancer Canada programs and initiatives. This work is only possible with your support. People who have been touched by the disease come together at the Walk to rally for hope and to form a community of support. Here, bonds are honoured, friendships are born and memories are made. Walk for HER to help change lives and power vital research.

When I moved to Jimei 9 months ago, I was not familiar with the place. I got used to it after half a year. According to one of my neighbors, “Some part of Jimei is nice, some part of Jimei is disgusting”. Not for only once, when I walk along some beautiful quiet streets of Jimei, I feel the beauty of it and feel like in the heaven. Even till now  I am still not familiar with it, but when the bus drives along the bridge and I look at that place, I know I do know something about this place and it is part of my memory for ever. And just before the Chinese new year, I hear the song composed by one of the Jimei people. “最美是集美,集天下之美”.
