09/10/2016 10th Annual Manifesto Festival of Community and Culture Downtown Free

Commemorating its 10th year, Manifesto hosts their annual Festival of Community and Culture. A multi-arts celebration with a focus on hip-hop, Manifesto will take places at several locations across the city over the course of nine days. It will feature live performances, exhibitions, speakers, panel and more. Performers at this year's festival include A Tribe Called Red, Jillionaire (major lazer) and a few surprise guests , at The Drake Hotel, Echo Beach and Yonge-Dundas square.

Diversions showcases the photographic outcomes of an ongoing artistic dialogue between emerging artists Ravinder Rai and Sebastián Benítez. Engaging in themes of contemporary identity, culture, image, objects, commodification, and sexuality, this exhibition shares a process of awareness and discovery as Rai and Benítez photographically respond to each other's work. Featuring playful and clever self-portraits and still life photographs, this exhibition also incorporates elements of installation and mixed media.
